Autonomy (Black Lives Matter Rallies in San Francisco) 2022
4 minutes 8 seconds
This video collage documentation of Black Lives Matter rallies in San Francisco in the summer of 2020 forms a pair with my past work “Nightwatch”. As “Nightwatch” depicted Japanese people’s political responding within the confusion caused by the natural disasters, this work documented American people’s actions against injustice following the shock of the COVID outbreak. With the same editing method as “Nightwatch”, this video collage represents how we human can strongly stand and fight against both the absurd catastrophe and the rise of reactional order following social crisis.
